Main immigration routes
Express Entry
The fastest route for skilled professionals. Foreign degrees need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated organization such as WES. You also need IELTS, CELPIP or PTE Core results and proof of settlement funds unless you hold a valid job offer.
DetailsProvincial Nominee Programs
If your CRS score is below recent cut-offs, a provincial nomination adds 600 points. Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and others regularly select candidates in technology, healthcare and the trades.
DetailsStudy in Canada
A popular first step for younger applicants. A strong study plan, a well-chosen program and clear proof of funds are what officers look for most.
DetailsWork permits
A job offer from a Canadian employer, usually backed by an LMIA, can bring you to Canada as a worker. Canadian experience then counts strongly toward permanent residence.
DetailsVisitor visas & Super Visa for parents
Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and PRs can visit for up to five years at a time on a Super Visa, or apply for a regular visitor visa for shorter trips.
DetailsFamily sponsorship
Spouses, partners and dependent children of Canadian citizens and permanent residents can be sponsored for permanent residence.
DetailsDocuments to start preparing
Most delays happen because a document is missing, expired or not detailed enough. Start early. Credential assessments and police certificates can take several weeks.
- Valid passports for you and your family members
- Educational Credential Assessment for degrees earned outside Canada
- Language test results (IELTS General, CELPIP, PTE Core, or TEF/TCF for French)
- Detailed reference letters from employers, with duties, hours and salary
- Police clearance certificates from your home country and any country where you lived for six months or more
- Medical exam by an IRCC-approved panel physician, when requested
- Biometrics at a Visa Application Centre in your country
- Proof of funds: bank statements and deposits, as required by your program
Working with us from overseas
You don't need to travel to work with us. Consultations happen over video call, WhatsApp and phone, at times that suit your time zone, and documents are shared securely online. Our Mississauga office is there for you once you land, and for family members already in Canada who want to meet in person.
Beware of anyone promising guaranteed visas or jobs in exchange for payment. Only IRCC can approve an application. Paid immigration advice should come only from a licensed RCIC or a Canadian lawyer.
Not sure which program fits you?
Tell us about your education, work and family. We'll tell you honestly which options are realistic, at no cost.
