Study Permits

Study at a Canadian college or university and plan your future here.

Overview

To study in Canada for more than six months you need a study permit. You need an acceptance letter from a Designated Learning Institution and, for most applicants, a provincial or territorial attestation letter. You also need to show you can pay tuition and living costs. Study can lead to a Post-Graduation Work Permit and later to permanent residence, but only if the program is chosen with care.

Who it's for

  • Students admitted to a Canadian college or university
  • Students extending or changing schools while in Canada
  • Parents planning for minor children to study in Canada

How we help

  • We review your program choice against post-graduation work permit eligibility before you pay tuition.
  • We build a clear study plan and proof of funds, the two areas where most refusals happen.
  • We advise on accompanying spouses and children, and on working while you study.

Program rules, fees and processing times are set by the Government of Canada and change often. Check the official IRCC information page, or ask us for advice on your situation.
